How To Discontinue Your Website And Keep Your Domain

There may be an occasion where you no longer need a website or need to discontinue it for a period of time, but still wish to retain ownership of your domain name. You can follow these steps to discontinue your site while keeping your domain.

1. From within your WebStarts account dashboard, click the drop down in the upper right corner.
2. Select the Billing option to access the Billing section of your account.
3. Click the Cancel Subscription button next to the website hosting subscription (i.e. Individual Plan or Business Plan).

What Happens Next?

Your Individual or Business Plan subscription will expire at the end of the current term, then the domain name will no longer connect to the website. Continue to maintain a valid card on your account Billing page and your domain renewal fee will auto-renew 30 days prior to the domain's expiration date.

Note: if you need to reconnect the domain to the website at a later date, you can either continue the Individual or Business Plan subscription through your account Billing page or upgrade the website through the account dashboard, then you can re-point the domain to the site.
