Verifying Your Site With Google

Google requires you to verify that you own your website before being able to leverage some of their services, such as Google Search Console.

To verify site ownership with Google follow these steps.

Step 1. Go to https://search.google.com/search-console, login to your Google account or sign up.

Step 2. Select the property type labeled URL Prefix and enter the web address of your website.

Step 3. Select the HTML tag verification method and copy the provided code to your clipboard.

Step 4. Go to the Page Editor and click Edit > Edit HTML > Site Head, paste the code onto its own line, click Insert, and save the page.

Step 5. Return to the Google Search Console and click the button labeled Verify under the HTML tag section.
