Working with Photos, Images, and Graphics
Adding Photos and Images To Your Site
Photos, images, and other graphics make your website visually interesting but there's a few things to keep in mind when working with them.
File Size:
Large files displayed on your web page can slow down your website load times. To keep your website running quickly on all devices, try to keep individual files under 25mb. This ensures that your photo will load on your site quickly, decreasing the time it takes for your website to load on your visitor's computer, tablet, or phone.
Number of Files on a Page:
The second thing to look out for is the number of files on any given page. Just like large files, the more files you display on your page, the slower your pages will load. Also, you don't want to clutter your website with so much visual information that your customers miss the point of what your page is trying to communicate. A good rule to remember is this: Images show, but words tell.
That said, our engineers are always one step ahead. To combat these problems, we built in a feature that will automatically optimize your images for the web. It allows your images to be displayed with maximum quality and minimal file size, keeping your site looking great and loading fast.
Adding an Image to a Page:
To add an image to your website from the page editor click Add > Image. From there you will be able to either upload images from your computer, choose images you've previously uploaded, choose images from the stock image library, or import images from your Facebook account.
Uploading Photos and Images From Your Computer
To upload photos and images from your computer click Add > Image, click the button labeled Upload, and then select the file or files you'd like to upload from your computer. Once the files are uploaded, thumbnails for each are displayed. Click on the thumbnail you want to add to your page and then click the Insert File button. You can then drag and drop your image where you'd like it to appear on the page.
Insert Photos and Images From Your File Manger
You can insert photos and images you've previously uploaded to your file manager by clicking on Add > Image thenclicking on the image thumbnail, and then clicking the Insert File button. You will then be able to drag and drop the image wherever you'd like it to appear.
Insert Images From the Image Library
The stock image library is a collection of images available to use on your website. Webstarts provides thousands of free images for you to use. To insert an image from the library, click Add > Image, then click the Image Search tab, click the image thumbnail, and then click Insert File. You can then drag and drop the image where you'd like it to appear on your page.
