Verifying Your Sending Domain
Verifying your sending domain lets WebStarts send your Email Marketing campaigns from an email address using your own domain instead of a WebStarts sending address, thus helping to improve delivery, prevent spoofing, and allow a branded sender address.
Setting Up Your Sending Domain
- From your website dashboard, open Email Marketing.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Under your email settings, enter the From name and From email you want to use for your campaigns.
- The From email must use the domain you want to verify. For example, if you want to send from
hello@example.com, you would verifyexample.com.
- The From email must use the domain you want to verify. For example, if you want to send from
- Click Update.
- Under Verify Your Sending Domain, select the domain you want to verify.
- Click Verify Domain.
Adding the DNS Records
WebStarts will provide three CNAME records that must be added to your domain's DNS settings. Click each field in WebStarts to automatically copy its value to your clipboard, then paste it into your DNS settings. For each record:
- Copy the Hostname value from WebStarts and enter it in the Hostname field at your DNS provider.
- Copy the Value and enter it in the Value field.
Add all three CNAME records before continuing.
Note: DNS settings are usually managed by your domain provider. If your domain is registered or managed through another company, you'll need to add the records there.
Completing Verification
After adding all three records, return to WebStarts and click I've Added These Records.
WebStarts will check the DNS records and verify your domain. Once verification is complete, your campaigns will use the verified From email address you entered in your Email Marketing settings.
You only need to verify your domain once. Once verified, you can use your branded From address for your Email Marketing campaigns.
Changing the Reply-To Address
Your From email is used as the sending address for your campaigns. If you want replies to go to a different email address, you can set a different Reply-To address for an individual mailing list.
To do this, go to the Subscribers tab and update the settings for the appropriate list.
